Client Selection Portal

A luxury selection experience where clients review materials room by room, see allowance math instantly, and approve decisions that are recorded — with dates — for good.

Built for: A builder's clients making finish selections, and the team pricing and approving them.

The business problem

Builder selections happen across showroom visits, texts, and spreadsheets. Undocumented decisions become change orders, disputes, and schedule slips.

The solution

A portal with the polish of the homes it serves: room-by-room navigation, real material imagery, live allowance variance, builder review, and a permanent approval history that turns 'when did we decide that?' into a lookup.

Primary workflows

01

Review options

Clients browse selections by room with material imagery, pricing, specs, and allowance math in view.

02

Approve or request changes

Submissions go to the builder for pricing review; clients approve revisions from any device.

03

Reference the record

Every decision is timestamped with its comments and revisions — the selection sheet writes itself.

The workflow, before and after

Before

  • Selections scattered across texts, emails, and showroom notes
  • Allowance math done by hand after the fact
  • No record of when a decision was made or changed
  • Pricing surprises become change-order disputes

After

  • One portal, organized by room, shared by client and builder
  • Variance against allowances calculated as options change
  • A formal submit → review → approve flow with revisions
  • A dated decision log everyone can point to later

Design decisions

  • The portal carries the builder's identity, not a software vendor's
  • Approvals lock decisions — changes after that are formal change orders
  • Material imagery leads every screen; specs support, never dominate

Why it matters

Fewer undocumented decisions, cleaner change orders, and clients who always know where their budget stands — in an experience that matches a luxury build.

A countertop selection with everything a decision needs: the material itself, supplier, price against allowance, specifications, and the client's note to the builder.

The decision history — submitted, reviewed, revised, approved — timestamped and recorded, so change orders stop being arguments.

On the phone

Clients review and approve from the showroom floor — one selection at a time, allowance math in view.
